Translation Of Ghazal No.32



Ghazal no.32

1.
گھر ہمارا جو نہ روتے بھی تو ویراں ہوتا
بحر گر بحر نہ ہوتا تو بیاباں ہوتا
2.
تنگیِ دل کا گلہ کیا یہ وہ کافر دل ہے
کہ اگر تنگ نہ ہوتا تو پریشاں ہوتا
3.
بعدِ یک عمرِ ورع بار تو دیتا بارے
کاش رضواں ہی درِ یار کا درباں ہوتا

घर हमारा जो न रोते भी तो वीरां होता
बहर गर बहर न होता तो बयाबां होता
2.
तनगी-ए दिल का गिलह कया यह वह काफ़िर दिल है
कि अगर तनग न होता तो परेशां होता
3.
ब`द-ए यक `उमर-ए वर` बार तो देता बारे
काश रिज़वां ही दर-ए यार का दरबां होता

tangii-e dil kaa gilah kyaa yih vuh kaafir dil hai
kih agar tang nah hotaa to pareshaa;N hotaa
3.
ba((d-e yak ((umr-e vara(( baar to detaa baare
kaash ri.zvaa;N hii dar-e yaar kaa darbaa;N hotaa

Translation

1.
My abode even if I had not wept would have been ruins,
If the ocean had not been ocean then it would have been the desert.
2.
Why to complain about the grief this is such an infidel heart,
That if it had not been distressed then it would have been scattered.
3.
After an age of dejection and abstinence she should have permitted approach at least,
May it so happened only "Rizvan" himself were the sentry of the gate of beloved.
