1.
I was forced to cause it to flow from the eyes,
As if the blood of the heart were a trust from her.
(Special trait of the beloved's eyelashes is that their arrows wounded the heart, and told it to yield up its trust. Now it is clear what destiny the beloved's eyelashes have in mind for the lover's drops of blood.)

2.
Now I am and my broken heart, and my grief for the murdered longings,
Because of the crowd of longings my heart was becoming an pictorial mirror, you broke it and the thousands of longings are destructed.
(Your pride did not consent to see your equal in the mirror.)

3.
I ought to be rewarded for this unique outcome by having people wander through the streets carrying my bier,
Because I gave up my life in the longing for the beloved's street.
( Leaving the world, I would stroll one more time through those captivating places, because now I am dead and will not return again.)

4.
In the desert of faithfulness there can be no success except an imaginary hope,
The sand of the desert of faithfulness is like the temper of sword.
( The point is that faithfulness, in the end, take the lover's life.)

5.
Like others too,I thought that grief of passion was small, but when I was trapped in that disaster,
That the grief of passion, even it is less, turned out to be more than world's grief.
( Grief of passion is more disastrous than the grief of the whole world's.)
