Interpretation-Ghazal-9



1.
In the world no space is available for the word faithfulness,
This is the word which has never placed itself under obligation to meaning.
(Lover's faithfulness is a meaningless thing.)


2.
Even after the emergence of dawn,there was no change in the arrogance of the curls,
As now I think green emerald is not effective to the dancing snake.
(Greenery of the dawn=Green emerald.)


3.
When I wanted to die and escape from this grief and sorrows,
Out of fear of disgrace and disrepute she did not approve even this.
(The beauty of this verse=Where I will get another such faithful person.)


4.
Since I attain this mood from the thought of wine-drinking,
If my temperament is not inclined toward piety then what is the harm.
(A man should remain happy at all times.)


5.
You did not make a promise,I am happy even with that,because I am saved from the obligation,
And from an obligation like that,I never could have repaid.
(Never I have heard a single word of encouragement from you.So I lost interest in promise of union.)


6.
I made my last wish,that death should come,
And I remained deprived even of that.


7.
I died from the shock of the very first movement,and was not equal to the breath of Jesus,
And because of my weakness I had no chance to hear the voice of Jesus.
